OCI FastConnect Partners for On-prem datacenters in 2023

OCI FastConnect allows customers the ability to extend their network from an on-premise datacenter to Oracle Cloud. We see this topology often with Hybrid Cloud designs where the customer workloads at their datacenter remain if they are not cloud native, compliance requirements or prior capex investments.

Many customers still have split architectures with the App-Tier and Database Tier, in this case Oracle between on-prem and OCI Cloud.

Why consider OCI FastConnect for on-prem?

Using OCI FastConnect must be fully explained as this on-ramp is only available within Oracle Cloud, not at your datacenter. This means you must use a 3rd party connection option into OCI FastConnect so your cloud network is extended to your DataCenter. This is important, OCI FastConnect is not a product/sku for on-premise from Oracle, it’s the mechanism within their cloud to allow you to network with them.
