OCI FastConnect Partners for On-prem datacenters in 2023
OCI FastConnect allows customers the ability to extend their network from an on-premise datacenter to Oracle Cloud. We see this topology often with Hybrid Cloud designs where the customer workloads at their datacenter remain if they are not cloud native, compliance requirements or prior capex investments.
Many customers still have split architectures with the App-Tier and Database Tier, in this case Oracle between on-prem and OCI Cloud.

Why consider OCI FastConnect for on-prem?
Using OCI FastConnect must be fully explained as this on-ramp is only available within Oracle Cloud, not at your datacenter. This means you must use a 3rd party connection option into OCI FastConnect so your cloud network is extended to your DataCenter. This is important, OCI FastConnect is not a product/sku for on-premise from Oracle, it’s the mechanism within their cloud to allow you to network with them.

- Contract/MSA negotiation – We’ve been involved in thousands of contract and Master Services Agreement negotiations with our customers. - Pricing – We update our benchmark pricing monthly of telco carrier commercial costs so we understand the range you should expect.
- Terms – Do not lock into a term until you understand the ability to move, change, upgrade or downgrade. We can assist with the right approach before you sign a contract with a carrier.
- Project Management – Every carrier is different and most do not have public documentation on how their post sales support works. We have worked and partner with all carriers globally so we’ve had experience with them and understand their workstreams well. No need to go this alone.
- Governance – Your FastConnect network is in and working! 12-24 months later is where governance is important. Knowing who to call during a potential issue or billing question is critical.
